Escape the Rat Race

I love Los Angeles. I love it. I probably have twenty restaurants that I consider my favorite. I have just the right amount of friends in my community, but there’s always something to do! For me, there’s never a dull moment, and that can actually be a problem. Escaping this rat race is difficult and for many of us, finding time to relax is often a chore! I know that sounds counter-intuitive, and for most people in most places, it is. But Los Angeles is an entirely different kind of place, and down time comes at a premium. Here are a couple of suggestions on how to get the down time you deserve!

The right car

Anyone who has lived in Los Angeles for longer than two weeks will tell you that having the right car is as important as having the right girlfriend or boyfriend. The right car or truck offers the perfect respite from the rat race. It acts as a quiet and safe shell from the outside world. The brand new, 2014 hybrid Nissan Altima is the quintessential vehicle to maximize your comfort and safety while minimizing cost and carbon footprint. For me, it’s the best possible vehicle within a reasonable price range. I love it because of its inspired cockpit, its silent engine and state of the art safety features. I also feel very strongly about supporting the sale of hybrid vehicles. The environment is in terrible need of our care and every little bit we do, helps. If you’re interested in the inspired Altima or any of the other tempting and seductive cars and trucks in the new 2014 lineup from Nissan, go to either Chino Hills Nissan or Metro Nissan Redlands and get amazed!

Though Los Angeles is infamous for its traffic and mayhem, it also has a number of nooks and crannies to escape to. Griffith Park is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood and offers miles upon miles of out-of-the-way hiking trails. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a mountain lion! The Santa Monica mountain range is just thirty miles from Hollywood and after you walk in for twenty minutes, you’ll forget that there is a population of nearly fifteen million within twenty square miles! Personally, when I need to escape, I go no further than Echo Park lake. Though it’s right in the middle of town, this little gem showcases a beautiful array of birds and an inspired conservation project. For the kids, there are paddle-boats and for the young lovers, gondola rides.

From most perspectives, Los Angeles looks like absolute chaos. The cars, the people and celebrity offer a constant distraction from the world, but even here, the world isn’t hard to find. All one has to do is hop in his brand new, beautiful hybrid Nissan and escape. You won’t have to drive far.
