If you have a fuel injection system, turn the ignition on and off once or twice without actually starting the automobile. This will pressurize the fuel system and assist in starting the car. In case you have an old carburetor system, give the gas pedal a couple of pumps before turning the key.
It can also be quite dangerous, although jump starting a car can get you out of tough situations. Before the process, follow these precautions:
Don’t smoke-batteries produce gases which are explosive.
Remove any loose watches, jewelry, necklaces and clothing, as they may get caught in moving parts.
Do NOT attach the negative jumper cable to the negative post about the dead battery. It will give off sparks that may ignite battery cause and gases an explosion.
